Whether it's claymation, brickmation, pixelation or cut-out stop motion, Stop Motion Tool has you covered. Stop Motion Tool allows you to connect a compatible DLSR camera via USB and build an animation in minutes. Don't own a compatible DSLR? You can use your webcam or another video input device that works with your computer. On macOS, you can use continuity camera to link your iPhone and use its camera.

Timeline

The stills (frames) that you take appear in sequence below the preview. You can extend frames, shorten them, alter them in photo-editing software (such as Gimp or Photoshop) and re-arrange them.

You can change your project's frame-rate which automatically updates above the timeline and in the preview.

In/Out Markers

Enabling 'Use In/Out' allows you to mark where you want the preview to begin and end, as well as what frames you want to export.

Further, alongside selection, in and out markers allow you to use effects more efficiently.

Onion Skinning

Keep an eye out for small, unintentional alterations between your frames with onion skinning. This blends either the current preview with the last frame, or two frames that have already been taken.

You can get an idea of the trend of motion using trails, which blends the last three frames together.

Nested Sequences

Create scenes within your animation using nests.

You can group any number of frames into one block on the timeline for ease-of-viewing and organisation. The frames will playback the same as if they weren't nested and still respond to changes in frame-rate, just while saving space in your timeline.

Audio Clips

Time your animation to music, or just add sound effects. The choice is yours.

Link any mp3* audio file to your project and insert it between two frames in your timeline. The icon will light up when the clip is playing and allow you to time your animation precisely and frame-specific.
